welcome to CEO insights I'm Marilyn dezman with Inn I'm speaking with Neil marsten CEO and managing director of Australia based exploration company Flynn gold hi Neil hi Marin good to be with you today yes good to meet you so this is the first time that we're having a conversation I think this is you know a good place to start is just to give our audience sort of an overview of Flyn gold the Flyn gold story since you listed in mid mid 2021 yes look the Flyn uh gold story started with the um company securing a a
package of tenaments before we listed um our early exploration efforts have all been focused on nor the Northeast part of Tasmania and the reason we have uh been exploring there is due to the similarities between the geology there and the gold mineralization styles that occur there uh which are very similar to The Victorian goldfields on the mainland of Australia to the north uh and as you people would know the Victorian gold fields are one of the world's uh greatest gold camps the amount of gold
that's come out of Victorian gold Fields has been phenomenal over the years and even today there have been some recent uh high-grade gold discoveries made in Victoria which really has uh reignited exploration in Victoria and and we've been a first mover uh to secure ground in Tasmania on the thesis that there's lots of high grade gold still to be found in Northeast so we've secured over a th square kilometers ground in that area and we've been very excited with the results of our exploration
today so your Flagship project the Golden Ridge project you've done some exploration work there uh tell us a bit some tell us some uh you know updates on the exploration work that you've done so far uh look you we're really excited about the Golden Ridge project because we think it's a very significant gold system and the reason I say that is we consider Golden Ridge to be an intrusive related gold system and elsewhere around the world where you've got these intrusive related gold systems they host
multi-million ounce gold deposits so that's a reason we think we're uh we're on to something here and we're very excited about potential for Golden Ridge uh and what we've got a Golden Ridge geologically is a granite dome which is uh pushed up against the overlying and surrounding sediments uh and there's about an 8 km contact Zone where there's historical gold workings for the late 1800s which uh um haven't really been explored in any significant way since those old timers were there so since we
listed the company we've got and drilled at uh dive and drilling at two main Pro Prospects uh brilliant and traela which are 2 and a half kilm apart and then we've done some Scout drilling at some other locations as well and the drilling up Brian uh that confirmed Where've got a highgrade narrow vein gold mineralization system there over a strike length of about 300 M which is open in all directions uh and then in May when we went to trafala and did that drilling there as I said 2.5 km to the
east uh that was the first drilling to test right on the contact zone of the granite and the sediments so we're actually testing that that interface between the two and we've recorded some exceptionally highr results uh we've got multiple cords spame uh intersections of over 100 G per ton gold and really um at this stage we've drawn about 14 holes there we've got gold mineralization over a strike length of about 400 m and it's open in all directions and down dip as well so between those two projects we've
had some really good results uh and then the Scout drilling we've done which is tested some of the areas outside of Bri and in between Bri and trfa we've also hit some gold mineralization with some shallow holes so overall we think it's a very encouraging result today and we're looking forward to to going back and doing some more work there very soon and in the beginning of January you've also uh released some announcement about drilling results from the warrena and fire tower projects
could you provide some highlights of those results yeah look um both those projects were required by gold last year from a company called Greatland gold wara is about 40 km from Golden Ridge and consists of gold mineralization and all workings over 6 km strike length so not dis similar to Golden Ridge um with there's been significant shallow gold rization intersected in the past by by great land and we did two holes last year um those holes intersected multiple load style orous quartz Mains hosted in
turbidites sediments which significantly are very similar to The Victorian goldfields so the the uh best intersection was 7.2 M at over 2.5 gr per ton from just 69 MERS in that uh shallow drilling so that confirms for us the potential of that project um and you know we we'll be looking to do more work there and establishing mineral resources um as soon as we can um and at fire tower that's further to the West in the Northwestern part of T Mania and it lies within the pr prolifically mineralized
Mount Reed volcanics which hosts several worldclass deposits uh again previous exploration work has been pretty limited uh but they have identified mineralization over about a 6 km Zone um at the main fire tower prospect it's got significant poly metallic mineralization intercepts from historical drilling we're talking about gold plus Cobalt plus tungsten and copper um and hadn't been really well understood we went and looked at the data when we acquired it last year we did some modeling and
identified an opportunity uh to go and test for Down dips extension of what we had noticed as a highgrade uh poly metallic zone so we put four holes in there late last year and we've been uh receiving results coming through um uh in January and we reported some of those the best interval was 70 M at over 2.3 gr plus very good Cobalt and tungsten numbers as well so we've achieved what we wanted to do in confirming the extensions at depth of that mineralization we're still only drilling
down 100 meters or so so it's uh it's very uh open at depth and uh that's a great opportunity for us as well as long strike so between those two projects that really adds to the um the story when we've got Golden Ridge and these two other projects to go and explore in this uh coming period no for our you know our audience who are you know looking at your projects you know there's an interesting angle there in your location you're in Tasmania and you know when we talking about mining in Australia Tasmania isn't
you know normally come to mind so could you talk a bit more about this jurisdiction how it is operating there in white Tasmania yeah look tasmania's economy is very much dominated by mining Uh there's Big mines on the West Coast uh exporting iron ore uh gold and poly metallic concentrates from the number of Mines so the the government and uh public in Tasmania are very supportive of the lighting industry uh it's you know it's a major primary industry in that state um getting permits to get onto the land
is good um The Regulators uh have a very straightforward process which uh is very transparent we can work through that quite well um it's very much um a skill Workforce there good access to infrastructure with roads rails and ports um so overall it's a it's a very easy place to be exploring for us uh and U you know I think as far as future possible development of uh of anything into a mind um th those challenges can be um um addressed quite reasonably another interesting aspect I think about your companies you have this
gold properties but you also are playing in the battery metal space um you know can you talk about this you have your lithium project in Western Australia as well uh yes Marilyn uh we've got um two sort of areas of focus uh up in the north of Western Australia in the pillur region we've got the mount duve project uh that sits in a very um hot address really we're close to a number of um lithium mines and also the large Hemi gold deposits only about 15 km away so um very um underexplored area as far as
we're concerned um we've done some soil sampling there and come up with some uh gold and also some lithium anomalies which need to be tested so um that will be followed up in the in the future um and in the south in the eard area around Southern Cross we've got um two projects Forest Ania and Lake Johnson our forest Ania is very close to the Mount Holland lithium mine being developed at the moment and Lake Johnson is located in exciting new Province uh where there's been some new discoveries from drilling
by other companies uh just uh adjacent to our ground um and then on top of that we've secured a oneyear option on a couple of expiration licenses a place called parad which is about 50 kilometers north of the mount Holland deposit and historical uh RAB Drilling in that area is chasing gold back in the um 1990s intersected pegmatites in multiple drill holes but they never tested for so that's a exciting opportunity for us to go and follow up those earlier results and see if we can find some pegmatites with lithium
mineralization in them so um yeah it's a great uh second string to our bow so to speak so what's your exploration plan for 20124 well this year obviously uh our Focus will be on gold in Tasmania the three projects I spoke about Golden Ridge warrena and firel will obviously be the main Focus uh and with the lithium side obviously the lithium Market has come off quite a bit so our activities there will really um uh follow on from what we're doing right now we' we've just completed s sampling
programs on the park and Dome and at Lake Johnson so we're waiting for results from that and once we get those results in we'll really uh have a look at those results and determine what we do next uh and as I said Mountain Dove's got some targets we do uh need to test in the future as we go forward but certainly for the company at the moment gold seems to be the best place to be in so that's what we'll focus on well thanks so much for your time Neil uh thanks for update on your company and
your projects no worries marily thank you for your time today yes and thanks everyone for watching join us again next time for another engaging conversation on CEO insights if you like this video make sure you subscribe to our Channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss future updates and interviews see you next [Music] time
