 [Music] [Music] I'm Charlotte McLoud with investing news.com and we're here at PDD 2024 there are hundreds of companies down on the show floor and we went down to ask them what they think the biggest challenge for the mining industry is today here's what they had to say okay biggest challenge from a junior perspective I think is raising money and trying to uh walk that fine line between uh diluting your share structure too much and uh uh and keeping uh keeping money in the till and using it uh to

fund your exporation uh that's uh it's always a fine line when you when's the best time to uh to load up the till and when uh uh and use it properly that's really I think the the biggest challenge look generally speaking uh the mining sector is at the moment facing a real uh dir or lack of investment in the particular in the junior space now that's not really it's twofold it really um slows down the exploration and development uh of which in the world relies on these Junior companies to

continue to do uh to invest that capital in but which will then I think will lead to further uh uh further lack of Metal Supply going forward critical Metal Supply going forward as we're seeing now with copper the copper uh Supply get widening every year I think one of the biggest challenge we Face here at the mining industry is educating the general public that mining is absolutely critical to our existence on this planet and that everything we have if we look around here comes in one shape or form from

mining and we as an industry have done a very very poor job of communicating that mining is not only important to individual people but to us as a society and as a species on this planet so that's where I think we need to really focus a lot of time and educate people that when you ask young people today where electricity comes from they might tell you that it comes from the plug in the wall or if you ask them where copper comes from of course everybody knows you just get it on Amazon which so we have

to educate people that these things come from minds and minds are critical to our existence relevance nobody understands how important the mining industry is and so we're taking great strides to change that Viewpoint by adopting uh carbon absorption concepts with our mining uh by bringing the indigitous folks as shareholders and partners in our project bringing the government in them by doing clean um and no pollution mining that's what we're doing and I think people are starting to get it that's the most
