welcome to CEO insights I'm Marilyn dman with investing News Network my guest this episode is Tom deras CEO of apia rare Earths and uranium Corp and he's providing some updates on the company's PCH project in Brazil hi Tom hello Maran yes so let's just get down to our conversation here um you could you provide us an overview of the PCH project and why it's an important asset for apia at the moment we recently the earlier this year we um apia acquire 70% option on this PCH project in Goya


States Brazil it's an ionic Rare Earth and ionic plate type deposit or Prospect Opia has been working with in exploring for RS in saskat for many years but these reare ionic Clays reare Earth prospects are great because usually they uh the the rares occur within the clay which is the top 10 to 20 30 m from surface and um it's a very low radioactivity they also contain both um heavy and light rars the magnet rars the one in demand it it this this type of dep in environments in Tropic environments so in in this case in the


PCH case it's within 30 kilometers from a mining town we have very good access with roads there is power uh and there's the water so yeah we got all the elements there and so the previous owners our partners they had done some work there so we knew there is um there was rare Earths um and basically on some a daming that they had done so they had found rare Earths within 78 M from surface so uh it is exciting the other thing with this um uh ioni CL uh type deposits they're easier to process


they're very leachable uh so and it's also easy to mine it's just CL so you pick them up so you process them you extract the rare earth and you you deposit it back into the same place where it was so you have very little or no uh uh no ttings so it's a it's very low cost to to produce and also it the cost is low when it comes to developing projects like this and you've recently done some uh exploration in the project and you've released some results from those exploration can you give us sort


of an overview of those and what are some of the highlights of those results we we closed this deal we we signed this option of deal in July early mid July we started drilling at the end of um of July um and by the middle of September we had completed 147 uh reverse circulation of drill holes and um about 70 AAR BS and one Diamond Drill hole so we have a besides um you know the project have a very uh very good uh technical team down there to come with the project so we are waiting results from from all this uh we


collected over 3,000 samples and we're waiting results from the from love um which were using SGS in Brazil so last week we we received you know the last while we received results from the first 17 reverse circulation drill so we released those uh and and we were excited very excited to see that that all the holes are mized 70 holes are realized in most Tes from top to bottom we knew that this mineralized Z was had 78 meters depth now with our drilling we extended the average depth to about 13 M


which means we double the size and we were expecting like you know we knew that there were about 1,00 parts per million in RS in in those 7 eight meters we the the the average grate that we got from from the 17 drill holes it's uh over that which is a 1566 uh parts per million um Rare Earth which is basically makes it at one of the very good high grade Prospect or eventually deposit so we did receive the first holes now I got to mention to you that within those within that 1560 parts per mid Zone there's High grate you know


that there's basically another section which is you know four 5,000 uh uh parts per milon uh uh 7 8 m uh you know car hydrate and most importantly we we see a good numbers there there's very good magnet RAR which is basically the neum prmium uh dysprosium and and turum that is used in in manufacturing um perent magnets which is used in in electric vehicles in driv train for electric vehicles and also for we turbines and other high-tech applications so very exciting results it's um it's it's very


highly unusual to get 17 out of 17 holes uh when you drill and and to have uh you know this kind of consistency of of the gr and the the depth of a mization it's always good when you're work exceeds expectations so how does this uh affect the trajectory what's next for the project we in the next few weeks uh we'll be getting the results for the the the balance of 147 RC holes and 70 uh uh um augur holes and and one drill hole uh the Dio drill hole that we did which is down to 243 M once we get all this we're


planning to do the first 431 resource a a resource population we going to hire an independent group uh inary group to do the resource culation and then we want to follow that PA that's a preliminary economic assessment and then all things will look good which we think it's a good possibility we want to move this project to the to the pref visibility uh stage uh next year now uh just for perspective there is another large depositing in the same province in the same area that is under growing


development it's almost finished you know going to devel velopment and their average grade is 1,200 parts per million per tone uh for example there is another deposit in Uganda in Africa like this that is um uh they're they're going into development and they've got around 600 parts from um uh so just to give you some perspective, 1500 and 66 parts from the overall aage grade it's it's excellent result right I wonder if you could tell our um audience the the investment Community you know the sort of the


driving Factor behind Brazil you have your company have has uh projects in Canada and then you know this latest acquisition in Brazil why Brazil well um we the company has been working in for the last few years up in the Alis lake in North Northwest and South scch around the uranium City we getting some very good results we did finish um we did a lot of expiration this summer and we finished uh 40 uh Diamond Drill Halls that were expecting results we be once we get the results will be announcing


that so we're not um discontinue that we we have a different team for Brazil and different team for for Canada but we're we're it's exciting also because apia is the only company that that has a hard rock high grade monite rare deposit in Canada and also is exciting because the a scat government through the skatan research council is building a processing facility the first processing facility in Saskatoon Canada that they will be processing monite so we don't have to build monite there but in


addition to that we have a PCH project which is an ionic clay and uh and there's only a few projects of ionic Clays there is actually right now all these projects that are in production are in China and in sou or China and the average grade as far as we know there is up to 700 parts per million the there is one deposit that is going undergoing development right now in in Brazil as I mentioned we have 1,200 Parts M great and there's another one in Africa so there aren too many deposits but the the reason we went down


to Brazil it was it's it's a right environment and as I mentioned before this this type of prospects or deposits are easily to very easy to explore uh inexpensive also very easy to to mine and very easy to process with less radioactive material so basically you might have no tailings and um so so stay environmentally friendly so you know we saw an opportunity and we you know we wanted to get into the into this type of deposit because we we understand rare Earths we've been in this Rare Earth
