hey everyone welcome to my channel and welcome back to my subscribers this is bald guy money i am bald guy and today i want to educate everybody who is considering investing in copper boolean this is a very important video for anyone who is currently either stacking copper or thinking about getting started so please be sure to watch this video to the very end before you spend another penny on buying copper bouillon because i am about to reveal whether or not copper is the next silver last thing before i get started please
take a moment right now hit the like button show youtube that you like content like this and help get this message out to a wider audience now that's all i'm going to ask you so as you all know i have been stacking precious metals for a long time now years now more than 10 years and a lot of people show me this pull up the first chart the price of silver over the last 20 years or so and they say to me well silver has gone from about five dollars per ounce all the way up to 24 dollars per ounce and
since i'm a stacker on a budget is it safe to assume that i can buy something like this and expect a similar return now i appreciate that most of us are on a budget i mean inflation is officially above seven percent the highest level since 1982 and unofficially we're probably closer to 15 so buying an ounce of silver or multiple ounces of silver it can be tough for some of us copper bouillon taken at face value seems considering those things it seems like a great deal but before you pull
the trigger on buying copper bouillon i want you all to consider this i've just shown you what a one ounce round of copper costs from appmax let's pull that up again okay so you can see here that it's 199 for one troy ounce of pure copper but here let's pull up a chart now this what you're seeing here this is the actual price of copper which is four dollars 52 cents per pound of copper now i personally i prefer the metric system because it's a lot cleaner and easier to calculate in but here's how
that breaks down into troy ounces for those of us who measure in troy ounces so one pound of copper equals 14.6 troy ounces of copper equals 0.45 kilograms of copper or any other material for that matter and that means that this beautiful copper round for only one dollar 99 cents from apmex is actually worth let's show it 31 cents that's right you tell him brittany only 31 cents and although none of this is financial advice i hope that you've all realized at this point that buying copper
bouillon does not represent the same opportunity that buying silver or gold bullion represents and the reason for that is really quite simple that is because gold and silver are precious metals and copper being much much much more common is what is called a base metal in fact the difference is so important that augustus yeah that's the guy the first emperor of rome decreed that while the roman senate could still issue money it could only do so in base metals much like this ass you can see this is a
holding it up to the camera this ass which was issued between 37 and 41 a.d featuring marcus agrippa a childhood friend of augustus whereas so the senate could issue currency and base medals i've just said whereas the emperor and this was really the source of the emperor's power in the roman empire that only the emperor could issue money in silver and gold much like this i'll hold it up to the camera this denarius featuring the emperor nerva he was an emperor for long so they're not many of them
and the reason uh because of that is because there's a very important distinction to be made between precious metals and base metals and this distinction has been recognized for thousands of years and let me tell you all right now it is not going to change now all that said i am anticipating the question what about collecting copper pennies is that is that worth it so pennies used to contain 95 copper and that was up until 1982 when the composition was changed to be made of majority zinc many people today collect these pennies
thinking that they are worth a lot more than their face value and they're not wrong in fact a pre-1982 penny has roughly 2.5 cents of copper in it that is actually enough to impress britney this time around what's less impressive though is that 1 million pre-1982 pennies weigh about 5 500 pounds or 2 500 kilograms making that 25 000 worth of pennies or copper which is theoretically fifteen thousand dollars in profit if you are actually able to save and find that many pre-1982 pennies it would make it very difficult
to manage with respect to storage transporting it around with respect to to weight you would have to hire a large truck to do that which at the end of the day in my opinion in my personal opinion is not worth it now you might disagree with that and that's perfectly okay we can always agree to disagree right but just the way i see it collecting those pre-1982 pennies is probably a waste of time at least from my point of view and that is the reason that i i i don't buy copper bouillon at all i
mean you saw exactly you know what that's worth but i also don't collect pre-1982 pennies uh for the value of their copper but i will say that a pre-1982 penny makes a fantastic collector's piece i do love american pennies i like american coins in general i think silver quarters are probably the most beautiful and i do if you've seen some of my previous videos i do hold on to silver quarters and silver dimes but pennies copper pennies i do not collect and everybody that is it please tell me what you
thought about this video in the comments and don't forget right now drop me a like if you haven't done it yet remember i am active in the comments section so any questions or comments you have will be responded to you can count on me to deliver that to you that said i wish you all happiness i wish you all health and i dearly hope to see you in the next one avidaze
