so how did Amazon Crush these sales the book they on the third day they changed the listing to a video game so the only way you could find this book was by actually typing in the exact title if you were searching for a book on gold and silver or investing in Precious Metals it did not come up I would much rather give you the couple of bucks by selling you this at a loss of a couple of bucks then have Amazon liquidate them hi last Saturday I received an email from Amazon that just made my week your
automated fulfillment inventory settings have been enabled if you provide a return address in our automated removal system we'll return your inventory by default if no address is provided you can choose to liquidate your eligible inventory otherwise your inventory will be donated recycled or disposed of what are they talking about they're talking about my book why would they want to throw away my book or ship them back to me because I haven't been selling enough why haven't I been selling enough
because Amazon absolutely crushed my sales I'll explain that in a few minutes but in the meantime I have reduced the price the book originally came out at 39 I found a way to save four bucks and since Amazon charges a percentage that four bucks meant that I could reduce the price by eight bucks I reduced it by 10 bucks and it's been selling it 29 well I just reduced it again because now by the 15th of September I have to sell a bunch of books or they're going to be shipped back to me
at a cost I will be paying the freight you know not so that they don't throw them out and I lose the entire investment they're going to ship them back to me and then there's a not just the shipping fees but the warehouse that receives them has a charge for receiving the truck and then a charge for putting the books back into inventory on the shelves and then the next wave of this financial crisis and I guarantee you there will be another wave when that happens I've got to send them back to
Amazon and there's shipping again and this just goes on and on it's been a real nightmare but before I get into that I want to show you what people think of the book now this is from a competitor of mine in the precious metals business a lot of us are very friendly competitors we feel like we're on the same mission that we're protecting people and we're helping people and so this is another precious metals dealer writing me a letter I'm writing you to congratulate you on your
latest book I could hardly put it down it's just fantastic and it should be mandatory reading in high school and college I asked our director of sales to purchase your book for every one of our sales force around 20 these days there is so much to learn for in your Masterpiece even for someone like me who has been doing this for 40 years and always looks behind the curtain so this man has been in this business twice as long as I have keep up the good work both of us have the same interest educate as many as
people as possible a terrible storm is coming and only the wise and strong will come out unscathed at the other end and boy is he right there is a storm coming the uh this financial crisis that we that started in March is not over with the 2008 financial crisis had like four different waves to it and there was long pauses between the first waves but then between the third and fourth wave it was a very short pause and then everything fell apart that was when Lehman happened and everything so what do Amazon's
customers think of my book well uh when this is not just for my book but this is a tip for anybody shopping on Amazon when you're shopping on Amazon if you're paying attention to any of the reviews don't just pay attention to how many 4.8 stars out of five but either hover your if you're at the top of the page hover your cursor over this and the rest of this will open up or scroll down to the middle of the page and you'll see how the breakout of the ratings first though you need to look at how many
ratings it has because when somebody launches a product at first the ratings are very very biased what will happen is they might have five ratings but it was all friends and family trying to help that person out and even if the product was a piece of junk it'll be a five out of five stars simply because there's none of the Amazon true Amazon customers that have rated it yet but once this gets over 30 or 50 that buy bias goes away and you're seeing what Amazon customers truly think of the product and
so here this my book is 4.8 stars out of 5 and it's 90 percent five stars now just to give you a some context this is my first book Seven you know 4.6 out of 5 77 percent five stars and then the next most popular book on investing in precious metals on Amazon is 63 percent five stars so you've got this huge gap of uh 77 percent to 90. people that have read the book think that this is the best book that they have read yet on precious metals uh it's also about economics though in monetary history
repeating and a bunch of other things that are I think are critical to know now the book was expensive but you know what are you going to invest in your financial education are you going to sort of you know cheaping out on it and so I have now reduced this book to the price of a black and white book uh and you know this book uh Amazon absolutely crushed my sales that's the reason that I've either got to take them back or have them liquidated throw them out uh I was wondering you know when you're in
this industry for a long time commenting on the type of stuff I do comment politics and and economics and so on you get very jaded and your mind sort of want I my mind wandered to am I purposely Shadow banned is there like a government agency where Amazon is doing it is is purposely making it so that people cannot find my book on Amazon so that people don't get to see the information that's in it well I doubt it I think that what it is is this nightmare monster bureaucracy of Amazon I mean it's huge uh it it during this
process I lost my assistance so I had to deal with all of this personally so I really know the Amazon bureaucracy and it is like dealing with the IRS every single day of your life I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy in fact Amazon treats its sellers like the enemy they don't seem to realize that they have two customers the seller is a customer of theirs that they are going to put together with the buyer another customer of theirs they're the bridge between them but they treat the buyers very well
and the seller like you are the enemy it's just awful by the way I have an enormous project coming that I've been working on for over a decade if you liked hidden secrets of money this far surpasses the the hidden secrets of money uh it is the most important thing that I will ever do in my life and we're we've already finished two episodes of the video and there's still some left but I have spent all of my time dealing with this instead of working on what is important uh now
uh I'm I'm going to be looking for an executive assistant slash businessman manager slash business developer to help me with these things and some other big projects that I have going because I need somebody to help me to hit that this assistance job will be to make sure that I'm focused on the really big project now I want to show you something well I'll show you that later so uh what happened uh and when I launched the book uh the book went on the like the second or third day it got to number
104 on Amazon which is very important if it had gotten into the top 100 once it's in that top 100 it gets recommended uh with other books any book in that genre you're going to see underneath that you're going to see my book in there and then it takes on a life of its own I've got experience with this my first book went to single digits it went to number nine on Amazon it's the highest single digit but single digits nonetheless so how did this happen here are my sales and you see that initial that enormous
initial pop that is the 19th and 20th of February and uh then they change I'll show you how they crush the sails but it hit number 104 and then the next day it dropped back to like 6 000 and then the next day twelve thousand and during that time we had the banking crisis of in March uh we had signature you know Silicon Valley signature First Republic credit Swiss now uh I have experience with this with my first book both books were launched about a month before a banking crisis and my first book was a rich dad book
Rich dad's Guide to Investing in Gold and Silver and anything in the Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad series gets this enormous uh pop at first just like this book did because he's got a following and they buy books by the time I launched this I had a following and people bought the book but then when the financial crisis of 2008 hit my sales were 10 times the initial pop not one-fifth or one-tenth like on this book so how did Amazon Crush these sales the book they on the third day they changed
the listing to a video game so the only way you could find this book was by actually typing in the exact title if you were searching for a book on gold and silver or investing in Precious Metals it did not come up and there it is on the app the phone app and then after battling with them personally for two and a half months almost three months I got them to change it back to a book as an unknown binding and then two and a half weeks later finally they agreed oh this is a paperback book and they changed it back but by that time
all of the momentum was gone so they also took away something called browse nodes my first book is under books business and money economics it's also on this is further down in the listing under Commodities Trading economic history and introduction to investing with this if you type investing in gold that book props up as number one it is the best-selling book on investing in Precious Metals of all time with my new book it has no browse notes or well it does have one now you'll see that later
but they took away the browse nodes when they made it a video game and I've been battling to try and get those browse nodes back there's none then what it had was books business and money finance and investing economics monetary history Commodities and precious metals those were the browse nodes until the third day and those the browse nodes that I would keep on trying to get Amazon to list it under again and I kept on getting back this message I got it 60 times we've reviewed your suggestion and
are unable to accept the suggested category browse node change this product is assigned to the current category based on the detail page and how Amazon customers find products through search and browse so the way you're going to find this is by searching for books in Bach this is the browse node that they gave it you can't it's it's starting to pop up just because of the algorithms and books that it's associated with but not because it's in categories so when you look for investing in gold it'll be
there but it'll be way down on the list so how did I end up in this position where Amazon is either going to throw away my books or send them back to me there's not enough of them selling because they crushed the sales but I have I had to order too many books and there is a reason so I've got a lot of books sitting there that I'm paying Warehouse fees on every month and losing a couple thousand dollars a month on right now uh I was certain that this book would be a hit so I was going to
order a lot of them but I was forced to order more than I wanted by like double or triple I'll show you why there were supply chain disruptions I was told that there were paper shortages and that if I when once I placed my order it was going to be a six to eight month wait before they could print the books so the books would be arriving in July August September and I knew this time last year I was rushing to get this book done because I was absolutely certain there was a a banking Crisis coming you can't
raise rates at the fastest rate in history like Powell did and not trigger some sort of banking crisis and I had had my head buried for the study of this book all of the research I had my head buried in all of the economic factors that were going on uh you know the economy and uh and the banking sector and what they were doing to it for four years and I was literally getting scared but I knew it was coming and I needed this book to be out before it came out I was trying to get this book out by October of 2022 they weren't printed
until November but then there was another hiccup that you'll see in a minute uh what happened was a uh somebody that had a big order for books dropped out they they canceled their order but the paper had already been received at the printer now this was this very dense coated paper my first book is 60 more pages so it's about uh 30 percent more pages uh than this book but it's double the thickness and this book The Thin one weighs more than the thick one the coated paper means that you can highlight it and it
doesn't bleed through it also means that it is perfect for color and when you use color you're engaging both halves of the brain which is very important because you absorb more and you re retain more when you're if you're just reading black and white you're just using the analytical half of the brain and when you use color because it engages more you just take in more and you retain it's just better and it's friendlier to look at and you've got this clean crisp type because it doesn't bleed into the
porous paper there's another side benefit uh it then engaging both sides of the brain eight percent of all men are color vision challenged and they're about 96 of those or more it's red green and it's not colored blindness so they just see both colors as as a certain shade of brown and so you can't in this book you'll see that there are no charts where I've used red and green you can use green with blue or yellow you can use uh um you just can't use red or green on the same chart and then there was a
cardboard shortage after I had received the books were printed in November but they couldn't get shipped until the end of December because of the cardboard shortage and then they're sitting in warehouses with warehousing fees storage fees and fulfillment minimums so that's the story and what I'm doing is I would much rather give you the couple of bucks by selling you this at a loss of a couple of bucks then have Amazon liquidate them or send them back to me and have to pay for the transportation
back to the warehouse the receiving fees the restocking fees and then ship them back to Amazon later when the next leg of this crisis happens so once again the price has been reduced from thirty nine dollars to nineteen dollars I want to thank you for watching and if you are one of the people that bought my book I want to say thank you thank you thank you if you're one of the people that gave it a five star rating thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thanks for watching
